From the thrills of Busch Gardens theme park to the wildlife-rich Peace River, this is an adventure for the young and young-at-heart, taking in kayaking, paddle-boarding, airboat rides and cycle tours, all of which help to showcase the wide-ranging appeal of this part of the Sunshine State. Sarasota itself is a happening city that often gets overlooked as people rush to Orlando, Miami and Tampa, but it richly rewards those who want to linger and explore, especially as it offers a terrific array of shops and restaurants, as well as some of Florida’s best beaches that rarely attract a crowd. It’s not quite off-the-beaten-track, but it is nicely-out-of-the-mainstream and A Great Place To Stay!
