The street food scene in the UK is booming, with food festivals popping up in cities, towns and even villages, but nowhere does street food quite like Miami. If you’ve watched the film Chef you’ll know all about the ambitious and diverse menus that Florida’s food trucks serve up (if you haven’t watched it, you’re missing out on a cracking movie). Food fanatics are absolutely spoiled for choice on the streets of Miami, so we’ve done the hard work for you and picked some of our favourites.
Cheese Louise! That’s a good toastie at Ms. Cheezious
Offering nearly 20 different types of cheese melting toasties, Ms.Cheezious will definitely make your eyes grow bigger than your belly. Our favourite is the mouth-watering Mackin Melt, with creamy Gouda mac n’ cheese and house cured bacon on sourdough bread. Or if you’ve got a sweet tooth, the naughty S’mores Melt is what you’ll want to choose, with roasted marshmallows, salted chocolate hazelnut spread and graham cracker crumble on sourdough bread.

Get the taste of Argentina with Che Grill
Grilled steak sandwiches served on freshly baked bread or a gaucho burger with shoestring fries? There are no wrong answers at the Che Grill – all their delicious flavours are authentically Argentinian. They also offer their house speciality, the delicious empanadas with options of six different fillings… go for the buffalo chicken for a taste sensation. Keep an eye out for their truck – you can’t miss the white and blue of the Argentinian flag.

“Munch and Move on” with Dim Ssäm à GoGo
If you’re a fan of Asian cuisine, Dim Ssäm à GoGo is where you’ll want to head. Their finger licking “KFC” (Korean Fried Chicken) wings give Colonel Sanders a run for his money – crispy batter, tender chicken, full of flavour. You can double up your portions if you’re feeling extra hungry (we’re always extra hungry when it comes to their chicken). Just heads up, it’s more than likely there’ll be a queue, but it’s well worth the wait.
Taqueria Los Chilangos too hot to handle
We think we know Mexican food in the UK, but Friday night tacos come nowhere close to the real thing! Taqueria Los Chilangos promotes humble and authentic Mexican flavours, especially with their quesadillas in large flour tortillas and their spicy street tacos served with your choice of protein, coriander, onions and salsa (they also have a gluten free option). The real question is just how hot can you handle it?
Bite into a Cuban taco with Caja Caliente
Miami’s Cuban roots run deep, and nowhere is that clearer than in the food scene. Offering seven different choices of Cuban influenced tacos, Caja Caliente will leave you spoilt for choice. Try the gorgeous Vaca Frita with shredded skirt steak, caramelized onions and avocado. They always have specials on the go, such as the tuna poke bowl with yellowfin tuna, quinoa, seaweed salad, avocado and spicy mayo. This is a great choice for vegetarians with meat and fish free options to suit everyone.
