Arts & Crafts Across Florida

Florida is a hotspot for arts & crafts. From unique festivals which enrapture the imagination through to towns & cities who create bespoke handmade wares you simply won’t want to leave behind. Performing arts have played a prominent role in American culture and all that history can be explored whether on a stage, in a museum or gallery.

City Destinations & Culture

Florida has some of America’s most diverse cities when it comes to arts & crafts, with Orlando being one of the top picks. It’s easy to visit Orlando without actually seeing Orlando. The downtown city hub is about 15 miles from the theme parks and requires a specific journey away from the main tourist areas to discover. But it’s worth it, by day and by night, as it boasts its own attractions, like the Orange County Museum of History and beautiful Lake Eola, and has a terrific array of restaurants and nightlife, including the new Dr Phillips Performing Arts Center, the Amway Center for concerts, the Orlando Shakespeare and Ballet companies, the eclectic Mad Cow Theater, the highly kid-friendly Orlando Rep theatre and Sak Comedy Lab for improv humour.

Farmers Markets For Arts & Crafts

The “buy local” movement is in full-swing, with farmers markets sprouting up in areas throughout Florida. Visit Farmers Markets for a taste of fresh local produce, baked goods, and other artisanal delights. With over 200 vendors, the Jacksonville Farmers Market is the oldest still-operating outdoor farmers market in Florida. Since 1938, this historic market has offered fresh produce, herbs, and local favourites like the famous Mayport shrimp. Browse crafts and handmade goods by local artisans or stop by Andy’s Farmers Market Grill for breakfast, lunch, or a quick to-go snack. The Jacksonville Farmers Market is minutes away from downtown. Other popular Florida markets where you can get your fix of arts & crafts are listed below:

Jacksonville Landing Market

Don’t miss dozens of vendors selling locally grown produce, baked goods, plants, pottery, arts and crafts, and much more at the Jacksonville Landing Market. It is conveniently located in downtown Jacksonville by the St. Johns River. Hours: Fridays from 10am to 2pm.
